The Comic Con 2000 website has updated its programming schedule yesterday. Here are some of the Star Wars-related events:
THURSDAY
4:30 The Surreal World: Tatooine Episode 1.5 - Think The Real World with the characters of Phantom Meanace and that?s the set-up for this half-hour parody. See intergalactic teen angst, robot love and terrifying split personality disorders. Watch a 45-year-old Jedi convince everyone he?s 22. And be in awe at the twisted fate of Jar-Jar. So find out what happens when a group of strangers from different planets stop using the Force and start getting surreal ? in a galaxy far, far away. Episode 1.5 is directed and co-written by Anthony C. Ferrante (editor-in-chief of the online Eon Magazine) and produced and co-written by Sheri Bryant (The Dentist, Arachnid). A panel discussion will include Director Anthony C. Ferrante, Producer Sheri Bryant and cast members Todd Rex, M Steven Felty, Bruno Oliver, Ian Anthony Petrella, Nicole Hawkyard, Curtis Casey, Matt Falletta and Jennifer Slinger. Room 6B
FRIDAY
10:30 Vanguard Productions Presents: The Amazing World of Carmine Infantino - This is Carmine Infantino's first (advertised) Comic-Con appearance in 25 years and is in support of his autobiographical career retrospective, The Amazing World of Carmine Infantino. The panel will be moderated by the book's co-author, J. David Spurlock and will be open to questions covering the entire career of the legendary, co-creator of the Flash, Batgirl, Deadman, Poison Ivy, Bat Lash and Black Canary. Infantino will also discuss his work on Batman, Star Wars, the Superman films and his term as publisher at DC comics. This will be Infantino's only panel this year; don't miss it! Room 1
1:00 Star Wars Documentary: Millennium?s End: The Fandom Menace - is a film chronicling the anticipation for Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace during the two years prior to the movie?s release in May 1999. The film interviews the creative forces behind such web sites as Ain?t It Cool News, TheForce.net, JediNet.com and StarwarZ.com, as well as the team behind Blue Harvest magazine. Jeremy Bulloch, who played Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, also appears in the film. It captures the most exciting time to be a Star Wars fan, at the end of the millennium. Filmmaker Jeff Cioletti will be on hand to introduce the film and field questions. Room 6B
1:00 Dark Horse: Star Wars - Hey Star Wars fans, come see what's going on with all your favorite Star Wars comics! A panel of top comic writers, editors, and artists will be on hand to tell you about upcoming Star Wars projects and answer any of those burning questions you have about your favorite titles. And if you ask real nice, they may even give away a secret or two. The panel includes artist Jan Duursema, writers Kevin Rubio, Ron Marz, and Randy Stradley, editor Dave Land, and LucasArts representative Haden Blackman. Plus an exciting sneak peek of art and interiors from upcoming titles. Fun for all! Room 7A
2:30 Creator Insight: R.A. Salvatore - The popular author returns to Comic-Con for a discussion and Q& A session. R.A. Salvatore is the author of more than two dozen novels, including The Demon Awakens, The Demon Spirit, The Demon Apostle, The Hafling's Gem, Sojurn, The Legacy, Starless Night, Star Wars: New Jedi Order: Vector Prime, and his newest hardcover: Mortalis. He will be writing an original novel based upon the upcoming new Star Wars movie, Episode II. Moderator Steve Saffel joins him. Room 7B
5:00 Spotlight On Al Williamson and Angelo Torres - Of all the EC artists, Al Williamson and Angelo Torres went on to the longest and most fruitful careers in traditional comics. Williamson continues today as an inker for Marvel (after many years in comic strips) and Torres is a MAD mainstay. Beyond that, they?re great friends and a hoot together! Join moderator and EC expert Steve Ringgenberg in a lively discussion with these two great cartoonists. Room 8
6:00 Eon Magazine: Star Trek and Star Wars: Is the Future Dead? - Two of sci-fi's most beloved staples are on life support. Our panel of experts from Eon Magazine volunteers their medical services to help revive these two flagging franchises. A San Diego Tradition continues. Featuring: Anthony C. 6:00 Catching Up With Kia Asamya - Kia Asamya is a very busy artist. So far this year, he's debuted two new manga series in Japan, one new color manga series in America, and has also been putting a manga twist on the Batman mythos. Just wait until you hear what he has planned for the second half of the year! Please join Mr. Asamiya as he discusses topics like what it was like working with George Lucas on the Star Wars manga, shares his views on what kind of hero he thinks Batman is and explains why he felt the need to bring color manga back to America with Dark Angel: Phoenix Resurrection. Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
