Saga Legends 2008 Fan's Choice Vote, Round 2

Posted By Curto on August 13, 2007

We want your votes!
Hasbro is looking for a final 5-6 figures that will round out the Saga Legends line, and which will be on shelf approximately March 2008. All Star Wars fansites that have been regular contributors to the semi-weekly Star Wars Q&A are welcome to send in their top 10 list of figures they would like to see us re-release.

For the past week, our forums have seen list after list of our members posting their top 5 choices and the results have been tabulated and they are in!

Here is a rundown of the top vote-getters from Round 1:

#1: Spacetrooper
Who? - Soldier of the Empire in the Heir to the Empire novel by Timothy Zahn.
Why? - Because this figure is a really hard-to-find figure from 1998's Expanded Universe line that came and went so fast just before the Episode I onslaught. Although many feel that he is in need of an upgrade, this figure is also cool because he is actually the first to feature super-articulation.

#2: Ephant Mon
Who? - Jabba the Hutt's Head of Security
Why? - 2002's Fan's Choice Figure #3 winner, this huge guy was hard-to-find initially and remains a fan-favorite.

#3: Commander Neyo
Who? - A clone trooper commander from Revenge of the Sith.
Why? - Previously only available in the Wal-Mart exclusive Treachery on Saleucami battle pack, many want to see him available individually, most likely for customizing purposes.

#4: Shadow Stormtrooper
Who? - One of Carnor Jax's stealth soldiers from Crimson Empire.
Why? - Previously available only as a StarWarsShop.com exclusive in The Saga Collection. Army builders will want multiples of this guy.

#5: Zev Senesca
Who? - Rebel soldier on Hoth who finds Han Solo and Luke Skywalker after a night in the cold.
Why? - Previously only available as a pack-in exclusive with the Rogue Two Snowspeeder.

#6: Pablo-Jill
Who? - An alien Jedi Knight from the Battle of Geonosis.
Why? - Because he looks like the long-lost cousin of the Zandozan from The Last Starfighter...no, it's because he's a hard to find figure from the "POTC" 2005 line of The Original Trilogy Collection.

#7: Stormtrooper (VOTC)
Who? - If you have to ask, then you shouldn't be reading this.
Why? - VOTC Stormtrooper. 'Nuff said!

#8: Sio Bibble
Who? - Queen Amidala's advisor from Naboo in The Phantom Menace.
Why? - One of the hardest-to-find figures from Episode I.

#9: Coleman Trebor
Who? - An alien Jedi Knight from the Battle of Geonosis.
Why? - Another cool-looking alien Jedi Knight from Saga, this figure remains a popular character choice.

#10: Han Solo (VOTC)
Who? - C'mon, seriously?
Why? - Simply the BEST Han Solo figure EVER made. Period.

#11: Covert Ops Clone Trooper
Who? - A made-up clone design from StarWarsShop.com.
Why? - An expensive exclusive repaint from Revenge of the Sith. And he's a clone, so army builders want him.

#12: Graxol Kelvyyn
Who? - A senator from The Phantom Menace seen on Tatooine for the Boonta Eve pod races.
Why? - Previously only available as part of the Watto's Box cinema scene, which was hard-to-find back in the day.

#13: Durge (Swoop Rider)
Who? - The ultimate bounty hunter menace from the Clone Wars.
Why? - The version is the articulated figure from the Deluxe Swoop Bike...although the bike itself would not be included.

#14: TIE Fighter Pilot
Who? - The pilots for the Empire.
Why? - Originally available in the Saga line, and several times afterwards, both as single carded figure and as a pack-in with exclusive TIE Fighters. Not really sure why he's on this list, other than he's a great figure!

#15: Zutton (Blue Snaggletooth)
Who? - A patron of the Mos Eisley Cantina, Zutton was originally made in a blkue jumpsuit by Kenner because they did not have enough source material to work from.
Why? - Only available as a kit-bashed figure in exclusive Most Eisley Cantina scene pack.

#16: Darth Sidious (Holograph)
Who? - The ultimate Dark Lord of the Sith, in a unique form from The Phantom Menace.
Why? - The first of its kind (taking an existing figure and casting it as a hologram), this figure is one of the more elusive figures in the Episode I line.

#17: Utapau Shadow Clone Trooper
Who? - Offscreen Clone Trooper, exclsuive to Target stores in 2005.
Why? - An expensive exclusive repaint from Revenge of the Sith. And he's a clone, so army builders want him.

#18: Padmé Amidala (Lars Homestead)
Who? - Padmé's midriff-baring outfit from her trip to Tatooine in Attack of the Clones.
Why? - Because it's a great figure from 2003's Saga line, even if she doesn't really do much.

#19: Queen Amidala (Battle)
Who? - The Queen of Naboo taking the fight to the Trade Federation!
Why? - Another hard-to-find figure from Episode I.

#20: Clone Trooper (Republic Gunship Pilot)
Who? - Like the name implies, this is the pilot for the Gunships.
Why? - Although a great figure from the Saga line, most fans don't really even want this figure as is, due to the limited articulation. So why the high ranking? Because collectors are eager to get more of the turrets for their Gunships!

#21: Oppo Rancisis
Who? - An alien Jedi Master from The Phantom Menace
Why? - Available only as part of the first (and best!) Jedi High COuncil screen scene set, this figure has gained more popularity due to his Clone Wars appearances.

#22: Princess Leia Organa (VOTC)
Who? - A leader in the Rebel Alliance.
Why? - It's VOTC Princess Leia...why do you think?

#23: R2-R9
Who? - One of Naboo's astromech droids.
Why? - A long-awaited revamp, this droid was only available as part of the Episode I Collector Tin, along with 3 other repacked figures.

#24: ARC Trooper (Red version)
Who? - Now called "Captain Fordo" in the Expanded Universe.
Why? - This figure is one of THE hardest-to-find Clone Wars figures from 2003. Although both the character and the tooling are coming out as part of The Hunt for Grievous battle pack, the rules for eligibilty allow for him to be in the voting.

#25: Commander Bly (Correct deco)
Who? - A clone trooper commander from Revenge of the Sith.
Why? - This figure was available in 3 different variants in the Revenge of the Sith line, a result of the hard copy being stolen from the Hasbro display case during Comic-Con 2005. Bly is also part of the Betrayal on Felucia battle pack, and while that should make him ineligible, the deco on that version is inaccurate. Fans want the accurate deco with brown stripes that was available for a VERY short time at the end of 2005.

Rebelscum Voting
Head on over to place your votes today and help decide the final wave!

These results will be finalized on Friday August 17th (5:00 pm EST) and sent to Hasbro, where they will sort through the lists and come up with the final round of 20 from all the collecting sites.

This will open up the voting to all fans (not just collectors), where Hasbro will determine the 5-6 figures that will make up the final wave of Saga Legends.
