Whether the panel be about Star Wars: The Clone Wars, feature someone related to Star Wars (Bonnie Burton, we're looking at you) or the panel simply include a subject that's in our wheel house, here's a daily breakdown of San Diego Comic Con panels that may be of interest to a Star Wars fan. We'll take this day by day so be sure to check back for subsequent entries to this series. Also, make sure to click the link for the full list of daily panels for SDCC 2012.
The final day of SDCC brings us Kyle Newman, the 501st, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Dee Bradley Baker and Drew Struzan.
11:05-11:55 Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival Awards The films have been shown, now it's time to award the recipients of the 2012 Comic-Con Independent Film Festival with their trophies and recognition! Comic-Con's Gary Sassaman talks to this year's trio of judges -- Steven-Charles Jaffee (winner of last year's CCI: IFF best documentary award for Gahan Wilson: Born Dead, Still Weird), journalist Borys Kit (The Hollywood Reporter), and filmmaker Kyle Newman (Fanboys) -- about the films and presents prizes and trophies to the winners. 2:00-3:00 501st Costuming 101: Dressing to Serve the Empire! This panel describes the essentials about what it takes to create a costume that meets the standards of quality for entry into the 501st Legion. It will provide an overview of what is involved in creating a costume, the different costume categories, and how much time is involved in creating a costume that is screen accurate. A panel of experts will describe, display, and demonstrate tips and techniques used for their costume specialty. They will also share information about the mission of the 501st legion. Room 24ABC
3:45-4:45 Drew: The Man Behind the Poster Screening a premiere clip from the feature-length documentary about movie poster artist Drew Struzan, which includes exclusive interviews with George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Michael J. Fox, Frank Darabont, Guillermo del Toro, Steven Spielberg, and many others. Followed by a Q&A panel that will include artist Drew Struzan, actor Thomas Jane, director Erik P. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated.
