Republic Commando: Novel News!

Amazon.com now has an entry for a new Republic Commando novel by Karen Traviss. It's also on the Canadian version of the website.

Now, we've known for some time that a fourth book in the series is due, but there's some new information here, and it might be considered vaguely spoilerish, so highlight the text to read it:

* The title is said to be Republic Commando: Order 66. I don't think we've heard that officially before, although it's been a popular suggestion with fans.

* The release date is said to be 15th July 2008. That ties in reasonably well with the dates that have been given before.

* The book is said to be 368 pages long, and a hardcover. The precise page count at least looks real, and the prices quoted are $26.95 US, and $32.95 Canadian, both of which fit the price-range for a hardcover rather than a paperback.

This news was first pointed out by patchworkz7 on the TF.N message-boards. I've not seen any official confirmation yet, but I suspect it's likely to be broadly accurate.

UPDATE: Karen Traviss has updated her website with confirmation of most of the salient info - highlight to read:

* Republic Commando: Order 66 is indeed a hardcover, and it's due for release in July.
