Since the demise of the Commtech chip, Hasbro changes their philosophy towards "pack-ins" for the new line, especially when it comes to the "basic" assortment of Collection 1. Although the Power of the Jedi Force Files received good feedback from collectors, mostly since they didn't raise prices (well, for the most part), they too eventually were relegated to the dust bins of pack-ins past. For the assortment based on Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Hasbro heeds collector demands for pack-in accessories that make sense and are actually seen in the movie. The folks from Rhode Island also add a lot more action and playability to the line, especially for their "basic" Collection 1 assortment, meant for newcomers to the film and children. With ultra-realistic Real Scan detail and cool action features that represent Hasbro's commitment to raising the bar for their action figure line, yet remaining true to the film and its vision, the newly christened Star Wars Saga assortment looks to be a winner. It's certainly not 1977 anymore, and even 1999 seems far far away. Here's a breakdown of the first wave of Collection 1 figures:

For example, Anakin Skywalker is classified as 02/01, specifying that this particular figure is seen in the second film of the saga, Episode II:Attack of the Clones, and is the #1 figure in the assortment. Here is the first wave of Collection 2's numeric sequence, which rounds out the lot:
