Our friend Joel from the Rebel Legion Mos Eisley Base sent us an e-mail to help spread the word of their 2011 Relay for Life team...
"Members of Rebel Legion Mos Eisley Base (MEB) in Arizona have formed a Relay for Life team with the American Cancer Society! Their goal is to raise $3,500.00 before their local relay in April 2011. Members of the MEB managed to raise over $2,500.00 in 2010.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.
Thanks to Joel for the e-mail and thanks to the Mos Eisley Base (and all the charitable costuming organizations out there) for continually doing Star Wars fans proud by doing some good in their respective communities.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
