The Daily Record reports that Ray Park to back the newspaper's "Save Our Kids" campaign:

SCOTS Hollywood star Ray Park is the latest big name to get behind our Save Our Kids campaign. But the Govan-born actor says he is getting the last laugh after being bullied because of his Scottish accent. After his family moved to London to find work when he was just seven, he was victimised by school bullies in the playground. He believes he has the bullies, in part, to thank for his martial arts skills which landed him roles in Star Wars and the X-Men films.

"I liked my Scottish accent. I hated to have to change my accent to feel accepted." Ray eventually took up martial arts to help prevent being roughed-up and verbally abused. He recalls: "I was in the park one day with my dad and we saw this guy doing shadow boxing and flipping, and kicking and I made my dad ask him where he trained. I went to the place in London and I've been there ever since. I was a big fan of Kung Fu movies and I wanted to do that."
