So, someone can understand how this phrase, which appeared on Fox News's website, would throw a Star Wars fan at first glance:

Congress can't seem to come to an agreement on homeland security. And the rancor is getting increasingly bitter.

Of course, a quick check to dictionary.com:

ran�cor (noun) Bitter, long-lasting resentment; deep-seated ill will.
