Now that Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling has announced his retirement, it seems he'll have plenty of time to work on his 38 Studios video game development company that he started in 2006. How this relates to Star Wars is that his team consists of comic book creator Todd McFarlane and author R.A. Salvatore, who penned the first New Jedi Order novel Vector Prime as well as the novel adaptation of Attack of the Clones.
Excerpt below: (includes quotes from a January 2008 interview Schilling did with GameTap.com)
'?This is my life after baseball,? he said. ?After baseball, I will do nothing except be a father, husband, and run this company.?
38 Studios faces an uphill battle against such industry giants as Activision Blizzard (?World of Warcraft?) and Electronic Arts (?Warhammer? and an upcoming ?Star Wars? game), said gaming industry analyst Michael Pachter.
?Will there be more people attracted to an R.A. Salvatore-penned story or to a ?Star Wars? story?? he said. ?The answer to that is to call your mom and ask her to name any R.A. Salvatore book and then ask her if she knows what ?Star Wars? is.?'
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
