An article in the San Jose Mercury News about the upcoming Oscars mentioned Star Wars in conjunction with LOTR. Here's a clip:
"'The Fellowship of the Ring' should win enough technical awards, including best director for [Peter] Jackson, to suppress any sniper fire from the Army Rangers in 'Black Hawk Down,' and create a rout for what is, after all, just a three-hour action movie--'Titanic' with some subtitles. Academy voters have turned their backs on commercially successful epics before: 'Star Wars' won six Oscars in 1978, but all of them were technical awards, while it lost in eveyr major category, including best picture, which was won that year by 'Annie Hall.' La-di-da. La-di-da."
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
