Peter Mayhew In "Yesterday Was A Lie"

PETER MAYHEW
IN WORLD PREMIERE OF
“YESTERDAY WAS A LIE”
AT PARK CITY FILM MUSIC FESTIVAL

Helicon Arts Cooperative is proud to present Peter Mayhew in the World Premiere of “Yesterday Was a Lie,” a film noir feature shot in classic black and white by award-winning writer/director James Kerwin.

Peter Mayhew is cast as a mysterious stranger who has an unknown relationship to the lead character Hoyle, a noir anti-heroine. While Mayhew’s role is non-speaking, it is central to the film’s plot.

“Peter was our only choice for this role,” commented producer Chase Masterson. “I don’t know what we would have done if he hadn’t agreed to do it. Because Peter’s face is so expressive and photographs so beautifully, he is extremely strong in this role. We needed someone who could make a picture speak a thousand words, and Peter does.”

“It’s a great irony in this business that Peter is known for a role in which his entire face didn’t show,” added writer/director James Kerwin. “Star Wars fans are in for a treat with this one.”

Indeed, science fiction fans will recognize several popular stars from the genre in “Yesterday Was a Lie.” Kipleigh Brown, who plays Hoyle, was seen by Trek fans as a guest star on “Enterprise”; genre favorite Chase Masterson, best known for “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” is one of the lead actors as well as the film’s producer. John Newton appeared as the title role in “Superboy.”

The World Premiere of “Yesterday Was a Lie” is on Opening Day of the Park City Film Music Festival, Thursday January 17 at 5 p.m. in Park City, Utah. Tickets are available at the Door. (Across the street from the Egyptian Theater) at 333 Main Street-Second Level.

UPDATE: Peter and Angie Mayhew were nice enough to get in touch and formally extend an invitation for the folks living in the Salt Lake City area to come on down and check out Peter's new film.

From Peter and Angie:

"We are hoping to descend on one of the local coffee shops afterward to have a cuppa with the folks who come. Our understanding is that the tickets are $5 for locals and $10 for out of towners. So, for anyone who's in the Salt Lake City area that would like to come and join us and hopefully enjoy a good film.....come on down......
