Pernilla August Awarded the O'Neill Prize Posted By Joshua on October 17, 2002
Peter translated a news article from Sweden's TV4 after noticing that a Star Wars alumni had won an award recently:
Pernilla August came to "Dramaten" in 1986 and debuted in Strindberg's "Ett drömspel" (A Dream play), in direction by Ingmar Bergman. He has later continued directing Pernilla August in several movies and theatre plays.
It was also in Berman's "Fanny och Alexander" (Fanny and Alexander) that Pernilla August became a known face to the TV-audience.
For the younger, and mostly american movie audience, her previous work with Bergman means less. That she, on the other hand has played Darth Vader's mom in George Lucas latest Star Wars movies has given her a cult status in those circuits.
