Anakin "Sky Guy" Skywalker Ahsoka "Snips" Tano Artoo "Artooey" Detoo Current Results One-Man Star Wars Trilogy To Return To UK Posted By Mike on May 15, 2007 The One-Man Star Wars Trilogy will be returning to the UK for a 6 week tour that will begin on June 1st and will conclude at Star Wars Celebration Europe, July 13-15. For those still unfamiliar with the One-Man Star Wars Trilogy, see below for the press release. In a recent survey, Sky Movies discovered that the Star Wars Trilogy was the most watched film by all male respondents and the second most watched film by the female respondents, with 50 per cent of all participants claiming that they had watched the films more than twenty times. Canadian actor Charles Ross has seen it far more often. Star Wars was continually running in the background while Ross was growing up in the wilds of Victoria, Canada, and the result is his hilarious show, One-Man Star Wars Trilogy, where he single-handedly plays all the characters, sings the music, flies the spaceships, fights the battles and condenses the plots into just sixty minutes! Since its debut in Toronto, in January 2001, One-Man Star Wars Trilogy, written by Ross and directed by TJ Dawe, has toured Canada and the USA, including an off-Broadway run, to huge acclaim. Charles has appeared on a number of prestigious American TV shows, including The Today Show and Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and Star Wars creator LucasFilms loved the show so much, they hired him to promote Star Wars: Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith and to appear at the official Star Wars Conventions, Celebration III and Celebration IV. After crossing the Atlantic last year, One-Man Star Wars Trilogy became the talk of the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it sold out every performance of its run at the Cow Barn - an incredible result which has led to the EFF organisers inviting the show to return to this year's festival. The 32-date UK tour which followed the 2006 festival culminated in a triumphant West End debut at London's Garrick Theatre as part of the if.comeddies season - an event which led to Charles performing an early morning extract to the bemused presenters of BBC Radio 4's Today programme! Since then, Charles has taken the show as far afield as Dubai and Australasia, but One-Man Star Wars Trilogy will be returning to the UK on June 1st 2007 for a six-week nationwide tour, which will include two appearances at Glastonbury Festival and a week-long run at London's Arts Theatre. The tour will conclude with three performances at the massive Star Wars Celebration Europe which will be staged at the ExCel Exhibition Centre in London from July 13-15th; the event marks the 30th anniversary of the release of the first Star Wars movie and is the first time that Celebration has been held in Europe.
