"Maul Stanley" Interviews Matt Busch Posted By Mike on May 10, 2007
"Maul Stanley"...yes that's right "Maul Stanley," has scored an interview with Star Wars Artist, Matt Busch. Here is an excerpt:
Maul Stanley: What kind of music do you like to listen to while painting?
Matt Busch: I mostly listen to hard rock and metal. It gets me pumped up and keeps me going. Sometimes when I'm working on movie stuff I'll listen to soundtracks. Occasionally I'll throw on some '80s guilty pleasure stuff.
Maul Stanley: Have you ever sneaked any rock & roll references into your Star Wars work?
Matt Busch: In episode 5 of the How to Draw Star Wars video series, there's this bit on procrastination where I bust out a guitar and start playing the Star Wars theme.
Maul Stanley: Which Star Wars character needs to set loose his inner rock star?
Matt Busch: Han Solo would make a pretty cool guitar player. Darth Maul would shred on bass. General Grievous could be the four-armed stick man. And after seeing Natalie Portman do that hot gansta rap on Saturday Night Live, I'm dying to see Padme let loose and rock out. I know she has it in her.
The Man Who Shot Luke Skywalker Posted By Dustin on August 27, 2008: Many of you probably don't know Photographer Kim Simmons, but you will recognize his photography of vintage and modern Star Wars collectibles. He has opened up a website right here where you can now order prints and posters of his nostalgic photography so many of us grew up with over the years. We (The Ohio Star Wars Collectors Club) had Kim as a VIP guest at this year's Summer Social and I must say the prints he has are amazing to see first hand!
