Lucas Attends Frida Screening Posted By Joshua on October 11, 2002
The SF Chronicle has an article on Salma Hayek, with a mention of George Lucas:
Salma Hayek let down her hair during an onstage interview at SFMOMA on Monday night. "All the photos have been taken so here goes," she said, unclasping her barrette and creating a moment of intimacy with the audience. In a VIP row, George Lucas seemed enthralled. If he creates a character for her in the next "Star Wars" episode, you heard it here first.
Hayek came in triumph to the San Francisco screening of her new movie, "Frida," a kickoff for the Latino Film Festival. Both Madonna and J-Lo wanted to play troubled Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, but Hayek beat them to it. Not only that, she produced the movie, which is sure to be a player at Oscar time.
Hayek couldn't have done it without help from her friends. She asked her current beau, Edward Norton, to work on the script, which he did at night while acting in another movie by day. "He'd sit down at the computer with 10 books about Frida and say, 'Don't disturb me.' He wrote nine drafts for minimum wage," Hayek told me.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
