Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, and Lord of the Rings take top honors in Biography Magazine's Hollywood Poll for favorite actor, actress, and movie. Chosen from the magazine's lists of the 10 Biggest Stars and the 100 Biggest Films, over 6,500 respondents cast their ballots via fax or the Web.

Although Roberts is everybody's favorite Pretty Woman, the victory was razor-thin, with only 8 votes separating her from second-place finisher Nicole Kidman. The runner-up to Mr. Nice Guy Hanks was that blue-eyed powerhouse, Mel Gibson. And despite the fact that Peter Jackson's wildly popular adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's novel was clearly lord of the favorite films, the empire struck back in the solid No. 2 spot.
