Kristen Bell & 501st Legion Charity Fundraiser

Posted By TFN on February 9, 2010

The helping hand of the Star Wars community has been extended once again, as Fanboys star Kristen Bell has recently teamed up with the Great Lakes Garrison of the 501st Legion to raise money for two charity organizations.

See the intro below from TheOaklandPress.com and then click HERE for the full article.

"Actress Kristen Bell and the members of the Great Lakes Garrison are not heroes ? they just portray them from time to time.

Yet, both recently collaborated to do something quite heroic: They raised $2,000 for two local charities.

Clarkston SCAMP, a nonprofit summer camp for people with disabilities, and CARE House, a counseling and advocacy center for neglected and abused children in Oakland County, both received $1,000 from a donation drive featuring trading cards of the Royal Oak native?s likeness.

The Great Lakes Garrison is the Michigan chapter of the 501st Legion, a worldwide ?Star Wars? fan collective, where volunteers dress as characters from the franchise for various events, including birthdays and hospital visits."

Many thanks to everyone involved in this extremely noble and generous cause.
