A few days ago, Gawker's sci-fi blog io9 spoke to former Star Wars author Karen Traviss about recent developments. The interview comes soon after her fans started a petition asking George Lucas to let Traviss finish her Commando series of books. The brief interview is mostly a rehash of what we already know, including the following statement from Traviss:
The impact of new canon on the Commando series was a separate and secondary issue, so even if that changed, I'm afraid it wouldn't alter the overall situation for me. [...] I had no direct access to or discussion with the Clone Wars team while I was writing the Clone Wars tie-ins or the Commando series, and that's common practice in the tie-in industry.
The most interesting tidbit came as a result of io9 asking Traviss which TV show -- The Clone Wars or live-action -- caused the cancellation of her Boba Fett novel. Traviss said:
The cancellation was due to the live action show, but that's all I know.
We've already known for some time that the live-action series would focus heavily on denizens of Star Wars's less glamorous sectors. Yet Traviss's words seem to take things a step further, indicating that the upcoming series preempted Boba Fett-specific material she intended to include in her book. Based on Steve Sansweet's statement at Dragon*Con 2009 about Daniel Logan, it's fair to say that a Boba Fett appearance in the series is likely.

I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
