She talks about her enthusiasm for the original movie in 1977, her fondness for Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bail Organa, and how to tie a new novel in with other stories. She also discusses her non-Star Wars writing, and how aspiring authors can (try and struggle) to get in on the act. You can read it here! Her first novel, The Innocent Mage, was a finalist in Australia's Aurealis Awards for Excellence in Speculative Fiction (Fantasy Division), while two other of Karen's books, Empress (of Mijak) and The Riven Kingdom, were selected for The Tiptree Award Honor List, the annual gender-exploring science fiction literary prize.
