Highlights from HolonetNews.Com

Posted By Scott on March 11, 2002

Here are a few interesting items you may or may not have seen on the new official Site feature HolonetNews.Com. Coopra reports:

Not only does that new Holonet News site reveal Dooku's home planet, but this page has a drawing of Shu Mai, president of the Commerce Guild:

Jason sends the following:

http://www.holonetnews.com/45/

In the back issue section of the holonet under the sidebar entitled "A Closer Look", entry #2 is The Lost Twenty: Dooku's Rise...

Robert sends the following:

This link from the faux-news site Holonet News:

http://www.holonetnews.com/46/regional/1337_5.html

...is a reference to the Marvel comic in which Obi-Wan Kenobi is traveling (alone) aboard a luxury liner in the old days of the Republic. The luxury liner has to navigate through the Merson asteroid belt, mentioned in the article, and there encounters Merson pirates (who may also be slavers--also alluded to in the article).

This is one of my favorite issues of the Marvel series, and an extremely rare tale of young Obi-Wan's days. It is totally against canon, as Anakin isn't traveling with him, but it's still a fun read. Apparently somebody at starwars.com agrees!

Boo Veteran sends the following:

In the Jedi Watch section, there is a story about how "Jedi refuse to hand over baby Ludi." In one part of the story, it has a quote from Jedi Master Coleman Trebor. If you guys hadn't noticed, it's actually Rob(ert) Coleman. Robert just spelled backwards. Of course, I don't know what that could mean, but it's interesting.

Kevin sends this:

was browsing through the new site HoloNet News, and I found this

http://www.holonetnews.com/45/news/13228_4.html

In the article, there is a picture of the head of the Stark Veteran Assembly, and he's wearing a sash that appears to have the imperial logo on it.

Boo Veteran returned with this:

Just wrote you a second ago. Jim Ward's name is also in there and scrambled. It's Mij Rawd on HoloNews, but I'm not sure about why that'd be overly special. I'm sure there are many more though.

Jedi Knight Toren Depor sends this:

I've been reading the HoloNet news site and I just started on a back issue: #45. It appears that "Rep. Binks" is still as clumbsy as ever and destroyed an ice statue when he tucked a tablecloth into his clothes.

<http://www.holonetnews.com/45/news/13228_3.html>

This HoloNet site is great, fun to read. It's also interesting to note that it has the first official date-keeping system for Star Wars. If this is ever elaborated upon it would be nice to finally see official and fan-made timelines using the correct dating system instead of referring the ammount of time between an event and SW4.

Keep an eye out for more!

Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch
Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014:
Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
