Fan of the Force.netSeth M. sent us a heads up on this article from Southern Florida about a teacher who mixes Star Wars with academics. Here's a small snippet.
"Lost in the world of Jedi, Yoda and Luke Skywalker, Gateway Charter High School American history teacher Christopher Kossmann is passionate about "Star Wars."
Kossmann teaches an academic seminar on "Star Wars."
Academic seminar allows teachers to share with our students their hobbies, interests and passions that may not get covered during a traditional 50-minute lesson," said Kevin Serra, GCHS dean of students.
Taking one hour every two weeks to go into depth on the philosophy of 'Star Wars,' examine the origins of today's hip-hop music or learning how to change a tire and do basic car maintenance helps our students understand that there are valuable lessons to be learned in nearly every aspect of human life. It's a fun, relaxed environment that engages students and expands our learning opportunities."
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
