LucasArts recently sent us a short statement declaring Star Wars Galaxies will in no way be closing its doors any time soon. While there have been many rumours stating otherwise, the following suggests nothing of the sort. LucasArts' Community and Press Relations Manager Casey Keefe explains:
Several websites are passing along spurious internet rumors regarding Star Wars Galaxies. Rest assured, these rumors are completely untrue.
LucasArts and SOE have no plans to ?sunset? Star Wars Galaxies. The two companies will continue to work together as partners in making Star Wars Galaxies the ultimate online Star Wars experience. As has been announced several times previously, LucasArts and SOE are 100% committed and determined to continue to support Star Wars Galaxies together, especially with our renewed focus on improving the game for existing players through robust publish and content offerings in 2006. On our forums, we have shared early plans for game updates through Publish 34, which can be found here: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=ddarchive&message.id=19110
Additionally, LucasArts and SOE will be hitting the road this April and visiting several cities across the US with a series of Community Summits in an open ?town hall? format where players can meet face-to-face with development team members, ask their questions, voice their concerns, as well as meet and hang out with fellow Star Wars Galaxies players.
The first Summit has so far been scheduled for Friday, April 7th from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM in Atlanta at the Marriott Atlanta Marquis. We here at TFN are greatly interested in hearing from any Galaxies players who attend this and the rest of the Summit series during April, so be sure to send us your feedback from each event.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
