The Official Site has updated with various plans for local fan events surrounding the IMAX premiere of Clones. Here's a clip of the hoopla, much of it featuring the 501st and FanForce:

With Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones - The IMAX Experience set to launch this Friday (with many theaters offering a special screening on October 31), dedicated Star Wars fans around North America have spent weeks preparing what they are calling "the biggest party of the year, for the biggest movie of the year, on the biggest screen."

At nearly every participating theater, local unofficial fan organizations have been working together in an unprecedented way to be on hand at various times throughout the opening weekend. Generally, this will include an impressive display of Star Wars fan costuming at its finest, in keeping with October 31st traditions. Don't be surprised if a stormtrooper wants to see your ticket. (Bring your camera!) You might just want to show off your own Star Wars attire.

In Atlanta, the Georgia 501st and the Hothlanta Rebels are planning a trivia contest and stormtrooper magic for those in line. In Raleigh, we're told that Chewbacca himself, Peter Mayhew, will be in attendance at the Halloween event and beyond. In Boston, the Boston Rebels of FanForce tell us there will be costumed Jedi on hand to train youngsters in the lightsaber arts.
