Episode II Running Time Revealed? Posted By Sebastian on January 17, 2002
Onur points out that the Hoyts Australian website lists Attack of the Clones as having a running time of 110 minutes, which would make it over 20 minutes shorter than The Phantom Menace and the shortest Star Wars film yet.
Now while the same site did get a scan of the AOTC teaser poster online first, it seems unlikely they'd have the correct running time already simply because there isn't a final running time yet. As was reported at the Official Site a couple of weeks ago, there are still more scenes to be filmed and effects work is definitely incomplete. Still, it is possible this is an estimated running time provided by Fox. Let's hope it is just an uneducated estimate, and we'll have a longer film.
Update: Mike Devlin chimes in:
Rick McCallum is directly quoted in the Empire magazine with Jango on the cover(!!!) and has this to say...
"The running time is about the same as what we were on Episode I <132 minutes> , give or take a minute or two"
That's *exactly* as the quote appeared in the magazine, so it looks like the film certainly *won't* be around the 110 minute mark!!
And with every Star Wars movie clocking in at over 2 hours, the 110 minute running length mentioned above is extremely dubious.
