David Prowse Signing At Hamleys In London

Posted By Mike on November 1, 2008

From our friend Richard of Hamleys in London:

DARTH VADER COMES TO HAMLEYS THIS HALF TERM

Actor Dave Prowse – famous for his portrayal as Darth Vader in the Star Wars saga – will be making an appearance at Hamleys, Regent Street on Wednesday October 29 to meet and greet competition winners who have been lucky enough to win a new Star Wars Millennium Falcon.

He will be joined by members of The Garrison who will flank him dressed as Imperial Stormtroopers.

Having met the winners, Dave will then be on hand to meet and greet his fans, sign toys and pictures and allow fans to have their photos taken with him.

The public can come and meet Dave between 10.30am – 1pm at the internationally famous toy store.

Also on display will be a demo of the fantastic new Star Wars Millennium Falcon. Best known as the fastest ship in the Star Wars galaxy, piloted by Han Solo and Chewbacca, this detailed replica of the rebel spacecraft packs powerful secrets and special modifications inside and out. Measuring more than two-and-a-half feet long, the Millennium Falcon is ready to blast off with light-up headlights and loads of electronic vehicle and weapon sounds, including engine boost, cruise mode, fly-by, firing cannons and much more!

Star Wars Millennium Falcon: Age 4+. SRP £149.99

Thanks Richard!

DARTH VADER AND HIS STORMTROOPERS INVADE LONDON TO TRACK DOWN THE MILLENNIUM FALCON

Actor Dave Prowse, the man behind Darth Vader’s mask, and his garrison of feared Stormtroopers stopped traffic on Regents Street today as he made a personal appearance at Hamleys, much to the delight of his legion of fans both young and old.

While Dave signed toys, books and memorabilia - including the new Star Wars Millennium Falcon – Stormtroopers and Darth Vader took to the streets of London in search the Millennium Falcon (and a bit of a bit of early Christmas shopping).

Hundreds of loyal fans and members of the public gathered on the pavement outside Hamleys as Lord Vader and the Stormtroopers allowed hundreds of fans and tourists to have their picture taken with the movie legends.

The imposing characters – played by famed Star Wars enthusiasts The Garrison – brought out feelings of both fun and fear from the crowd all eager to have their photos taken in the role of arrested rebels.

Dave Prowse, Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers were in town to promote the new Star Wars Millennium Falcon which is set to be the biggest Christmas present of 2008.

The appearance of the Star Wars legends coincides with the release of a new viral short film released onto the internet on Monday. A stop-motion Cribs-style short, it features Han Solo and Chewbacca giving a guided tour of the new Millennium Falcon but having to go ‘Code Red’ after an unidentified attack takes place.

For a full tour of the new Millennium Falcon by Chewie and Han, visit http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=C5cFA2P_1A0.

For the first time since its inception in 1979, Hasbro is re-launching the fan-favourite Millennium Falcon toy! This new Star Wars Millennium Falcon is over 75cm long and has it all! It features lights, missiles, vehicle and movie sounds and can fit up to 18 action figures! Includes Han Solo and Chewbacca figures.
