Broken Spice sends us this followup report to a report we posted late last week with a few new names of Australian cast. We included names like John Walton, Catherine McCormack, Lara Cox and Christopher Eccleston in the initial report, and here's a bit more to chew on:

Hi, I work in Australia and as you can imagine it's been very exciting over the past couple of years. I was reading your new casting information and can give you some info on them.

Both John Walton and Kimberley Davies met with Robin Gurland before filming began. They did meet with Gurland on a number of occasions.

Lara Cox as she had basically signed up for the prequel. I know this because a stunt double was needed for her as well I was told. Someone the same height and build as her but who was skilled in martial arts. I was told however that they ran into "contractual problems". I think that Lara had already signed up for another movie or T.V show which the Star Wars people were trying to get her out of as it clashed with there filming. This story could have been made up though as there was quite a bit of excitement going around about her casting. Maybe they made up the contractual problems to stop the rumors, so I can't confirm if she actually did sign on the dotted line.

Robin Gurland was also doing general casting among the agencies for a number of different roles. They were looking for "young people with distinctive faces for pilots". Some other general casting calls were for actors with experience of wearing costumes and masks and they were also looking for some very tall men. Gurland was even seeking out these guys at local basketball courts.

I hope this helps as I'm very proud to see so many Australians getting a chance to appear in these films.

Excellent, and also of note is that Putu Winchester (also from a rumored short list of actors cast in SW2) is from Indonesia, as many of the fans suggested he was from New Zealand.
