C4: Fanboys 45-Minute Preview

If you've been following Fanboys ... well, you're in for a treat. The premise is simple - it's the story of some fans one Halloween night that head to Lucasfilm to break in and steal a copy of Episode I. Geeks will appreciate it the most ... we saw cameos of William Shatner, Carrie Fisher and there was even a reference to Harry Knowles. Brilliant geek-inspired writing, though still definitely not the polished finished product.

Today at the Celebration, a special 1-time-only exclusive preview, the director, producers and a few members of the cast premiered 45 minutes of clips from the film. In a word? Fan-tastic!

They've got one last scene to film in September, a late scene idea in the development of the picture. Also the director noted that the van featured in the film will possibly be available for sale in the future. The film is now scheduled to be released January 18, 2008.

Fanboys was filmed on location in Ohio, Nevada and of course, Skywalker Ranch. The 45-minute series of clips played to raving applause and ended with a well-deserved standing ovation.
