Boba Fett, Other Characters Help Last Minute Filers Posted By Carol on April 18, 2007
From The Topeka Capital-Journal:
"Taxpayers got an extra day this year to file their returns, but it did little to ease the pain for those who still owed the government money.
"Earlier in the day, the U.S. Postal Service, which is releasing "Star Wars" stamps and products May 25, teamed up with the Galactic Empire to entertain postal customers and residents filing returns at the Main Post Office, 424 S. Kansas Ave.
"Darth Vader, portrayed by Topekan Chris Haze, and five other "Star Wars" characters stood along S. Kansas Avenue for more than two hours, visiting with fans and posing for photographs.
"Haze said the post office 'went through standard protocol and requested us' through the 501st Legion Web site. The 501st Legion is a worldwide "Star Wars" costuming organization of Star Wars fans with nearly 3,500 active members. Local members are part of the 70th Explorer's Garrison, which covers Kansas and Missouri."
