Artist John Alvin Passes Away

Our friend Greg F. wrote in with some rather sad news:

"I'm not sure if you have heard the sad news or not: legendary Star Wars artist John Alvin died Wednesday evening of a heart attack.

I just received the word a few moments ago from my roommate who works in the fine art business and he was told at 6pm this evening

John's art is legendary and he will be sorely missed. I met him for the first time at Celebration IV last May, he was a very gracious and generous man."

Thanks Greg. This has been confirmed by Lucasfilm. Our thoughts go our to Mr. Alvin's friends and family.
