At midnight, I saw the film on celluloid...and had a good time. However, I couldn't get into the movie. I thought the sound mix was bad, as I kept straining my ears to hear the score. The levels seemed so quiet I never was pulled into the story. Also, I noticed quite a few cgi effects didn't look right, either the digital background looked fake, digital doubles stuck out too much, and even the clone trooper head replacements were extremely obvious. I left the midnight show dissatisfied.
The next morning I saw a DLP presentation. The audio mix problems from the night before...were completely fixed. Music levels were powerful, dialogue and effects...crystal clear. The picture...amazing. Subtitles in color could be seen in the sky that were just lost on film. Of most interest, the digital effects blended completely with live action elements. I no longer had problems with the background or digital double shots. The head replacement looked infinitely better...only slightly awkward or noticeable.
However...Everyone who is able to see this film in digital, must. I firmly believe DLP is the way REVENGE OF THE SITH is meant to be seen.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
