For the best description of Talon Karrde, you need look no further than the author himself, Timothy Zahn. He has described Talon as what Han Solo would have been like if he hadn't met Ben and Luke in the Cantina. So what exactly is that? Well, a successful smuggler with just a touch of hero thrown in. But not much. And to survive in the Star Wars underworld, you have to be pretty tough or lucky. You would think he'd be older and wiser, but still have a touch of humor underneath. Taking a look at our candidates, Sean Connery has both the look of Karrde and he also played Ford's father perfectly in Indiana Jones. DeNiro has the look, too, and is tough to boot. Tom Selleck has the rogue element about him as well as being the guy that almost got the role of Indiana Jones, so he's just a little like Ford. Tommy Lee Jones has the look and the toughness, and Kurt Russell might be able to pull it off, too. Michael Keaton might work with a beard. He's got the wild side and the tough side thing happenin'.
