SEPARATISTS TO PALPATINE: "WE WILL BURY YOU!"

Even as Chancellor Palpatine made a desperate appeal to Separatists in a bid to stem what some analysts are calling "almost certain war," a high-ranking Separatist official had this message for Palpatine:

Drop dead.

MORE

"You will rot from the inside, you weak old man! We will bury you!" screamed Krusho Nikoota, senior advisor to Count Dooku, during a heated exchange at the Trade Federation headquarters.

At one point during the speech, Nikoota removed his shoe and began repeatedly banging the podium. The Twi-lek's tentacles were also observed making rude gestures toward onlooking Republic dignitaries.

A mere 17,000 city blocks away, the Senate was debating the Military Creation Act. Sources close to the Chancellor's office have told DUG'S REPORT that Palpatine has been in closed session with several of the Senate's moderate faction, in an attempt to prevent the crisis from swinging to either wild extreme.

"He may not have that option," said one staffer. "And Nikoota's words won't endear Dooku any sympathies for his rebellion in the Senate, that's for sure."

Calls to the Separatist embassy were not returned to the DUG'S REPORT.

But easy credits says that Nikoota's incendiary rhetoric was either galactically stupid egotism, or deliberately calculated to bring the Separatists into conflict with the Republic.

Developing hot...
