Attack Of The Clones

Parody of Don McLean's "American Pie"
Copyright 2002 by Michael Nabert

A long long time ago
The Galactic Senate
Feared many systems might secede
They argued in their parliament
Whether it was expedient
To build an army that they just might need
And Ani tried to find out who
Attacked the lady from Naboo
He talked back to his master
And said "Promote me faster"
It's true he showed a lot of skill
But Obi Wan said "Wait until
Your wisdom grows to match your will
Impulsive padewan"

It's all true, it was in Episode II
The Best Star Wars film in nineteen years I've got to tell you
It's got Christopher Lee playing Count Dooku
And Jar Jar's scenes are mercifully few

Zam Wessel led them on a chase
'Round Coruscant at breakneck pace
Jango killed her 'fore she confessed
Then Obi Wan investigates
And while he's gone young Ani dates
Amidala, who's often overdressed
On Naboo they share tender scenes
But in his dreams his mother screams
To Tattooine they go
And the Tuskens are laid low
He tries to woo the former queen
Like an obsessive brooding teen
With glimpses of his dark side seen
Our fated Darth to be

He started singin'
It's all true, it was in Episode II
The Best Star Wars film in nineteen years I've got to tell you
It's got Christopher Lee playing Count Dooku
And the best projection's digital, too

When Obi Wan's lead was run to ground
The Kaminoan world he found
They said "You've been expected here
We wondered when you'd come to get
Your million clones of Jango Fett
That we've been working on this past ten years"
Trying to bring the Fett man in
Almost cost Obi Wan his skin
He learned Count Dooku's plot
And then got himself caught
So the Geonosians gaily planned
An execution they thought grand
With giant beasts and bloody sand
And buzzing insect crowds

They were singin'
It's all true, it was in Episode II
The Best Star Wars film in nineteen years I've got to tell you
It's got Christopher Lee playing Count Dooku
And Samuel Jackson as Mace Windu

Ani and Padme soon appeared
And soon got captured like we'd feared
I'm sure it left them both annoyed
Mace Windu cut off Jango's head
And grimly counted Jedi dead
As Jedi masters clashed with battle droids
And wizened Yoda made the scene
With clone troopers and war machines
Dooku cut Ani's wrist through
And bested Obi Wan too
Then the two foot Jedi we love best
Put Count Dooku's talents to the test
And Yoda left us all impressed
But Dooku got away

And we were singin'
It's all true, it was in Episode II
The Best Star Wars film in nineteen years I've got to tell you
It's got Christopher Lee playing Count Dooku
There's amazing things a muppet can do
And we were singin'
It's all true, it was in Episode II
The Best Star Wars film in nineteen years I've got to tell you
It's got Christopher Lee playing Count Dooku
And I know the Force is with me and you
