Star Wars/Watchmen Connections

Fresh off the hype machine that currently is Watchmen, Starwars.com examines the connections between the new film/celebrated graphic novel and Star Wars. See the intro below and click here for the feature.

"With this past weekend's release of the Watchmen movie, attention has once again focused on the landmark graphic novel published by DC Comics from 1986 through 1987. The book -- originally presented as 12-issue limited series -- is heralded as one of the greatest works of graphic fiction, and is the sole graphic novel to rank in TIME magazine's 100 best English language novels from 1923 to the present.

The visionary work of scribe Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons is a must-read for any enthusiast of sequential art. What Star Wars fans may not realize is that both Moore and Gibbons have dabbled in the expanded universe of Star Wars publishing, each contributing to Star Wars storytelling. So, in a fairly transparent bid to draft off some of the chatter Watchmen is getting these days, we present a look back at these works by Moore and Gibbons."
