From an article on the USA Today website written by Donna Freydkin:
"About the only thing Natalie Portman has in common with Britney Spears? "I also shaved my head!" the actress says with a giggle. (That was, of course, for the 2006 film V for Vendetta.)
Otherwise, Portman ? a quietly confident Oscar nominee and Harvard grad ? prefers to live a low-key life in New York. She emerges only to promote films or causes.
And this week, she has been doing both.
On Sunday, she talked poverty with George Stephanopoulos on ABC's This Week; Tuesday, she gabbed with Rosie O'Donnell and the other ladies of The View; Tuesday night, she attended a party at the YSL boutique and hosted a post-premiere dinner at Chat Noir for her movie Paris, Je t'Aime, opening today in limited release; and Wednesday, she co-hosted a packed event at NYU.
Many of her appearances were designed to tout an organization she has been championing for four years: the Foundation for International Community Assistance (FINCA), which provides micro loans to the poor through its Village Banking program."
