More Theater Romance: McCallum Facilitates Engagement

At the 12:05 midnight showing at the Coronet theater in San Francisco, Rick McCallum showed up. He was almost mobbed by the audience as he worked his way down to the front of the theater, flanked by security, just before the movie was scheduled to start.
He introduced a young woman who was sitting near the front with my friend. He had her come to the front and the crowd was very quiet, except for the few of us who thought we knew what was about to happen. Rick then introduced my friend Chris...who walked down to the front, got on one knee...and proposed to his girlfriend! Right there in front of everyone. It was crazy...my friend proposed in front of The Phantom Menace!
She said yes, of course, and the crowd again went ballistic. Rick had a grin a mile wide! I don't know which was cooler, the movie or watching Rick McCallum introduce a couple who got engaged right there in front of us.
