According to a Q&A at a special 30th Anniversary screening of Star Wars, Mark Hamill reveals that making Star Wars was more "child's play" then aggrivating work.

Per Mark:

"It just seemed odd to get paid to have so much fun."

"It wasn't anything we didn't do when we were kids playing in the backyard, but they built props for us and it just seemed criminal to get a pay check!"
