Luminara Unduli at Comic 2 Cars in Kentucky Posted By Britany on April 29, 2005
Press Release (thanks to Bob)
STAR WARS ACTRESS APPEARING SATURDAY, MAY 7 AT COMICS 2 CARS IN NORTHERN KENTUCKY
Part of Worldwide Free Comic Book Day Celebration
Two thousand comic book shops will be celebrating Free Comic Book Day, but the most fun will be at Northern Kentucky's own Comics 2 Cars.
Mary Oyaya played Jedi Master Luminara Unduli in Star Wars Episode Two and will reprise her role in the upcoming Episode Three, Revenge of the Sith.
Ms. Oyaya is helping Comics 2 Cars celebrate both Free Comic Book Day as well as its first anniversary. She will be signing autographs and answering questions on Saturday, May 7th from 1:00 until 5:00 PM. Mary will be joined by other guests as well, including Star Wars Comics artist Joe Corroney and Star Wars Model Nutopia. Archie Comics writer Craig Boldman will also be signing free comics.
There is no cost to attend and everyone who stops in will receive free comics! Free Comic Book Day is designed to showcase the vast variety of contemporary comics and graphic novels now available. Plenty of all-ages material will be featured, in a family friendly environment.
"Our visitors on May 7 can see an adventure leading up to Revenge of Sith thanks to a special Star Wars comic. They'll also see The Batman Strikes!, a thrilling all-ages title focusing on a young Dark Knight," said store co-owner Bob Hickey. Also available at no charge are adventures of Betty & Veronica, with the return of Katy Keene! Homer, Marge, and the rest of the brood show up in the Bongo Comics Gimme Gimme Giveaway! G.I. Joe reports for duty in a comic that kids and adults alike will love, while Disney's Uncle Scrooge makes an appearance (no doubt horrified at being in a comic book given away for free!).
"We at Comics 2 Cars want to spread the word that comics are alive and well in 2005," Bob continued. They are thriving! We invite everyone to come in on May 7th and see for themselves how vital, relevant, powerful, and just-plain cool comic books are. Better yet, you get to do it for free!" Regular updates, information about comic books, and lists of participating publishers (and their comics) are all online at www.FreeComicBookDay.com. Further details and easy directions can be found at www.comics2cars.com. Comics 2 Cars is located right off of I-75.
Free Comic Book Day kicks off at 8:00 am and runs until 8:00 pm at Comics 2 Cars, 166 Mt. Zion Rd., Florence, Ky. Call 859-647-7568 for more information.
