George Lucas Talks To TV Guide

Posted By Mike on September 26, 2007

TV Guide took some time to interview The Maker on topics ranging from the Starz documentary Fog City Mavericks to Sean Connery's absence in Indy 4. Click here to check it out.

Thanks to "Jedi39" for the link.

UPDATE: Click here for Part 2 of the George Lucas interview with TV Guide. A much more interesting read then the first part as we delve into the future Star Wars TV shows.

Thansk to "Dex1138" and Michael S. for the heads up.

UPDATE #2: Friend of TFN, J. Dozier, sent over his cliff notes for what looks like part 2 of the George Lucas TV Guide interview. See below if you do not have the time to read the full interview linked above.

The Short Story - Quotes From Lucas:
- Clone Wars "So it's kind of a PG-13 animated TV series"
- Clone Wars "...do a hundred episodes... with 50 to 60 episodes [ready] before we start to put it on the air."
- Clone Wars "...it has to go after 9 o'clock and it can't be on a kiddie channel."
- Clone Wars "I'm very excited about the animated series because it kind of, I think, pushes a whole different direction of 3-D animation."
- Star Wars live-action "...it's characters from the saga who were [previously] minor, and it follows their stories"
- Star Wars live-action "There are storm troopers and all that, but there are no Jedis."
- Star Wars live-action "We're going to do a hundred of them, too."
- Star Wars live-action "...action is going to be a real hoot to do because conceptually, it's so much more interesting than anything I've ever done before."
- Both Shows DVD A whole lot of DVD stuff? " Yeah... This is something I want to do, and I'm going to go ahead and do it."
- Both Shows "... we can finance them, we don't need to have a commitment of any kind. We're simply going to sell them."
- Both Shows "...how I manage to end up earning my money back and all that kind of stuff is a whole different problem that I don't think about at this stage. I just go and do what I want to do."
