The Eastern Leadership Centre (ELC), Cambridge, in partnership with Swavesey Village College is launching iLeaders, standing for ?intelligent , innovative, and inspiring leaders for the future? ? an interactive training day this Thursday (17th July) to prepare 52 students for their leadership roles in school.
The ELC is a business spin-off from the University of Cambridge that provides training and professional development for school and college support staff, teachers and headteachers. Trading as Cambridge Leadership, it also trains headteachers in China, South Africa, and Europe.
The Centre has helped over 3,000 teachers to qualify in headship roles under the Government?s National Professional Qualification in Headship (NPQH) programme since 2003. This world-renowned expertise in leadership development has been used to devise a programme specifically for students, enabling them to lead the daily life of their own schools, spear-heading positive change, and achieving improvements.
iLeaders explores what type of leader you could be. It works through examining leadership models in popular culture, such as characters in the Star Wars films and the cult television series Heroes. The course then explores issues of time management and problem solving strategies."
