Billy Dee Williams Takes To Stage in The Maintenance Man Posted By Britany on February 27, 2003
EurWeb reports that Billy Dee Williams will take to the stage in May playing a mentor in "The Maintenance Man". Here's an excerpt from the site:
Billy Dee Williams appears in the stage play "The Maintenance Man" based on Michael Baisden’s bestselling book by the same title. Williams plays the role of Melvin. Melvin is a mentor to a young male escort (played by Darius McCrary) who discovers that he is in love.
Williams knows that he is perfect for the role of player -mentor. "The kids all regard me, no matter where I go, as the original player," he said. "So that’s the juncture that I’m at, at this particular time."
Williams, 65, is comfortable with the fact that some regard him as an elder playboy. "I think its kind of flattering," he admitted. "I was always a pretty wild kid when it came to the ladies but those things are not necessary anymore - which is good. It means that I’ve finally grown up," he said with a laugh.
