A Little Star Wars Fun In The Snow

Posted By Mike on January 12, 2011

For a lot of us, it's been looking a bit more like Hoth than Naboo outside this fine winter. After scanning the web for Star Wars news, a couple fun posts caught my eye. First up from a CNN iReport, Star Wars fan Lukifurcub decided to recreate The Battle of Hoth using figures and vehicles upon hearing the media tag "Hothlanta." This was following Atlanta's recent big snow storm. Click here to view the photo gallery. And in more snow fun, did you ever notice that when you shovel your front walk it kind of looks like the Death Star trench? Of course you have. We've all thought it while humming John Williams music. Aaron Dabelow and Mike Nelson decided to film it...

UPDATE: Contnuing with the Hothlanta theme, ForceCast listener Glenn from Dawsonville, Georgia sent over news that the tag-line was being taken one step further...

"Atlanta has been shut down all week due to more snow than the city was prepared to deal with. The term "Hothlanta", a play on Hotlanta, really caught on and someone grabbed the domain name and started selling tee shirts. Here is the most popular:

Thanks Glenn!
