Kansas City FanForce On Local News Posted By Dajuan on April 5, 2007
The Kansas City FanForce, Heart of the Alliance, had about 25 members show up Monday, March 26, 2007 to welcome R2-D2 (in his mailbox form) to the city. Not only were they draw a crowd as they paraded 5 blocks down the street in costume and Star Wars apparel, they also had a camera man and reporter from local station Fox 4 following them. The group was featured that night on the 9 and 10 o'clock news, as well as several times the following morning and the station's web site.
The group sent letters to George Lucas thanking him for the last 30 years of enjoyment, and also donations to the charity Harvesters.
