"Joel Cranson, Director of the Star Wars Fan Film Trilogy, Spirits of the Force, received the Filmmaker of the Convention Award at this year's Phoenix Comicon. He was given the award shortly after screening his latest web series project, PROBED:signals, but credits his Star Wars Fan Films as having quite a bit to do with it. Cranson first premiered the original 'Spirits' at Phoenix Comicon in 2005 as well as it's two sequels each year they were released. With a packed screening room at every premiere, each film took home several awards.
