Step By Step Tutorial to making your Light Saber blade glow.

This is a tutorial to show you how to make an object (intended for a light saber) glow through video post.  I am assuming that you have basic knowledge of 3D Studio Max (this tutorial was intended for 3D Studio Max Release 3).

1.) First off you will need to create an object, anything will do, like for instance the blade of your light saber.


2.) Next you need to hope into the Materials Editor.  Find the color (material) you want to apply to your Light Sabers blade.  Select the material and then change the Material Effects Channel (see pic below, it should look like this ) to the number 1 by clicking and holding the button until a the little menu pops up.  Once you have changed the Material Effects Channel apply the material to your light saber blade.


3.) Now go to Video Post.
 


4.) Click on Add Scene Event ().  

5.) In Add Scene Event select the view that you want to use (in this case I am using the good old Perspective view.
