A Word from John Hudgens
Producer of "THE EMPIRE STRIKES QUACK"
The Empire Strikes Quack was started back in 1989 while I was in college, and the version you see here is the "Special Edition" re-edit I did in 1995.
It came about because of bull sessions with my mentor, the late J.J. Johnson, and an idle comment he made one day, which ballooned out of control into the "opus" that TESQ became. This was (as he put it) a brain fart he had one day while we were having tea in his office, where we always sat around and talked TV, film and cartoons. He was killed not long after that, so he never saw it finished, but the piece carries a dedication to him.
TESQ has been playing at conventions ever since, and is partly responsible for many of the connections I've made in the industry and science fiction community, so as you can imagine, I'll always have a soft spot for it... even if my friend Patty Pope will scream is she ever has to see it again - but that's a long story you'll have to ask HER about...
