Matt Busch Presents His How To Draw SW Series Finale

Posted By Mike on April 23, 2012

Matt Busch's How To Draw Star Wars Series Finale has arrived and we have the videos and the accompanying press release for you down below...

THE ALL-PUPPET HOW TO DRAW STAR WARS SERIES FINALE VIDEOS!

DETROIT, MI -- Years in the making, artist Matt Busch has released the grand finale of the highly popular How To Draw Star Wars video series. Going out with a bang, this 4-part installment (titled "Break into the Biz!") gives aspiring artists insight on getting work with industry giants like Lucasfilm, as told with puppets! Early viewers on YouTube have already left comments like "That was so freaking sick!!!", "Spectacular!!!!" and "I got chills watching it!"

Busch began filming the series in 2006 promoting the book You Can Draw Star Wars from DK Publishing. The videos debuted on StarWars.com and shattered records on YouTube. The popularity of the videos can be attributed the vast educational material and fast-paced editing, sprinkled with comedic skits. Busch's past antics include dressing as Indiana Jones, models fighting in Slave Leia costumes, and teaching to draw anime in Japanese (with English subtitiles). The most popular episode to date features Busch donning an afro wig to impersonate Bob Ross with "Happy little interrogation droids."

The series finale is filmed almost entirely with puppets! Hand-crafted by Busch's wife, Lin Zy (who is also a licensed Star Wars artist), the videos find Matt Puppet on Dagobah training with Yoda to be a Jedi-like artist. Puppet cameos include Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Sesame Street characters, and even the return of Bob Ross. "Break into the Biz!" also features interviews with veteran Star Wars artists like Russell Walks and Randy Martinez, who give the inside scoop on how to build a portfolio, network with big shots, and make one's dream career a reality.

The final episode of How To Draw Star Wars is available to view in 4 parts on Busch's own website and YouTube channel. "It's kind of emotional and bitter-sweet." observes Busch. "Six years ago I set out with a master plan to do three full seasons and completed exactly that." The response to Busch's hard work hasn't gone unnoticed, with fans leaving comments like, "These videos changed my life in a much more serious way than just creating art.", "Sad to see the series go. Man, it was so inspiring!", and "Thanks for all these amazing episodes, Matt. It's been helpful, funny, and I think we've all enjoyed it."
