Some of you were wondering about the cyborg Jedi Master we keep mentioning. We heard he was called "Plo Kun", but Jedi Mike reported to Prequel Watch that it was "Plo Koon". Who knows which is correct. In fact, the whole name could be changed at this point. But as Mark Kuhlman wrote it, the "Kun" spelling has to make you wonder if it might be tied to Exar Kun (Sith Knight from the Tales of the Jedi comics) in some fashion. Maybe a relative of some sort? While that would be kind of neat and open some cool story possibilities, it's doubtful.>

First up, if you haven't seen Prequel Watch's latest update, go check it out. Jedi Mike sent them a listing of the names of the Jedi Council. For what it's worth, our sources back up pretty much everything in the report. And yup, Plo Kun IS the cyborg Jedi Knight we referred to. Interestingly, though, one of our sources said Plo Kun IS a cyborg Jedi Master, but another said there wasn't one. Here's what they had to say:
"There was NO cyborg Jedi masters and I was on set both days they filmed the Jedi Council Chamber scenes. Other Jedi's - Samuel L. Jackson (of course), Yoda (of course), Yaddle (a younger version of Yoda), Ki Adi Amundi (alien) and Even Piell (alien). Will try and remember the others."

Since our other source was positive there WAS a cyborg Jedi, we asked this source again:

"I can't be sure they haven't changed their mind but I know that during principle photography all of the Jedi Council Chamber seats were taken with either alien or human characters. There was no space left for a cg character. However, as I said, they may have now decided otherwise and removed one of the "real" ones and are going to instead add a cg one. It would be a shame, though, because all of the alien ones looked great."

It's hard to say at this point, but there you have it. I'd say what it sounds like is that Plo Kun is someone they added maybe later on at ILM? We'll keep digging for more info on them.

When Boba Fett hit the big screen in Empire Strikes Back, he was an instant hit with the fans. He barely spoke and didn't have a heck of a lot of scenes. He was simply cool looking. Episode 1 apparently has a similar such character. Few lines, barely in the movie, but bad to the bone. One look makes you say "Wow! Who's that?" Word on the street is that he is a bio-mechanical/cyborg member of the Jedi Council. Part man, part machine, all Jedi. ;) Word is that he is one bad dude! Folks close to the production are hailing him as the next "Boba Fett", meaning that he could easily become a cult icon just as everyone's favorite bounty hunter has.
