Kenny Baker will be back inside the Artoo robot. This time around we discover that R2-D2 is an astromech droid who originates from Naboo. He obviously makes his way to Tatooine and Mos Espa from the shots from the Official Site. The picture of Anakin's room (below) was on the Official Site...notice a familiar dome-headed droid in the corner.

The official site also added a production update on Artoo's makeup artist, Kevin McCarthy, titled A Little Lighter on the Mascara. It sounds like Artoo will be true to form in suffering abuse in Episode I. This will include rescuing the Queen and her company at the beginning and Anakin in the final battle.

Artoo is present at the pod race scenes, as well as the scenes around the Mos Espa Slave Quarters with Padme, Anakin, and Kitster. There is a scene called "Artoo Detoo Enters Watto's Junk Shop" and a scene called "Droid Searching Plates" which involves Artoo as well.

Prequel Watch also reports that R2 will have a new variety of weapons in Episode 1.
