Check out this article off the net from CyberSleaze For Thursday August 22, 1996. However, Harry Knowles points out the following to us, " Also, while you are at credits, the Obi-Wan news originates from a British publication called SFX, that CyberSleaze doesn't mention they stole the info from. Also the news appeared in a German Newspaper today." Thanks for helping us get the facts straight, Harry! Check out his web site HERE!!!! (even if he is a Longhorn! just kiddin' Harry!)

Amazing special effects will allow veteran actor SIR ALEC GUINNESS to appear in the next three movies in GEORGE LUCAS' STAR WARS reprising his role as OBI-WAN KENOBI, but as a young man. Guinness, now 82, won many new fans when he appeared as the guru in the Star Wars in 1977 and its sequel the EMPIRE STRIKES BACK three years later. LUCASFILMS plan to release the three new films annually from 1998. But since they are chronologically, prequels to the original sci-fi series Hollywood's top technicians were drafted in to mastermind the special effect. Using computer imaging technology, the studio will superimpose genuine black-and-white footage of Guinness as a young man with color sequences of him as Kenobi in the earlier films. That image will be transferred to a mask worn by an actor with the same height and build as the young Guinness. Trial footage has already been filmed, with the face applied in post production, and the producers are said to be delighted.

Personally, I think this is a big load of hooey. I don't see any reason why they would do this, artistically or financially. No Way.
